A scheduled lightweight pairing of Frank, The Crank' Camacho, and Brok 'Chaka Tuska' Weaver has been removed from this weekend's UFC Fight Night Vegas 10 showcase. Guam native, Camacho has been forced to withdraw from the tie, after he returned a positive COVID-19 result. In his place steps Jalin 'The Tarantula' Turner who meets Weaver - following the cancellation of his bout with Thiago Moisés last weekend at the UFC Apex.
Hoping to return to the winner's enclosure, Dana White's Contenders Series product, Weaver dropped a submission defeat to Roosevelt 'The Predator' Roberts at UFC Fight Night Vegas 1 at the end of May.
Himself looking to find his second straight triumph, Turner rebounded to the win column with a second-round knockout over Joshua Culibao at UFC Fight Night Auckland in February. Sources close to Ross Markey MMA confirmed the reworked tie, requesting anonymity in the process, following an initial report from BJPENN.com reporter, Cole Shelton.
Currently 1-1 in the promotion since his win on DWCS - Weaver scored a disqualification win over Rodrigo Vargas at UFC Fight Night Rio Rancho in February following an illegal knee from the latter. The 28-year-old Alabama native has scored a 15-5 professional résumé - which includes a notable victory over veteran all-rounder, Charles 'Krazy Horse' Bennett.
The 14-5 knockout artist, Turner - like Weaver, is a product of the Contenders Series where he notched a doctor's stoppage triumph over Max Mustaki. In promotional wins since, Turner has bested the above-noted, Culibao, and Callan Potter - in between defeats to welterweight mainstay, Vicente Luque, and Matt Frevola in his lightweight return.
