Report: Volkan Oezdemir vs. Nikita Krylov Slated For UFC Fight Island 6 on October 17th.

A light heavyweight matchup between one-time title challenger, Volkan 'No Time' Oezdemir, and former Fight Nights Global titleholder, Nikita 'The Miner' Krylov will take co-headlining honours at UFC Fight Island 6 on October 17th. - from Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Swiss striker, Oezdemir returns to Fight Island following a second-round knockout defeat to promotional newcomer, Jiří Procházka at UFC 251 in July. The knockout loss marked Oezdemir's first defeat in two outings.

Renowned finisher, Krylov looks to extend his winning run to two-fights, following a unanimous decision win over division contender, Johnny Walker at UFC Fight Night Brasília in March earlier this year. 

Oezdemir, 31, will make his tenth Octagon walk - following his organizational bow back in February of 2017. The Fribourg native has scored a 5-4 promotional résumé - landing eye-catching victories against Ovince Saint-Preux, Misha Cirkunov, Jimi Manuwa, Ilir Latifi, and Aleksandar Rakić.

The knockout artist challenged former two-weight world champion, Daniel 'DC' Cormier for the light heavyweight throne back at UFC 220 in January of 2018 - dropping a knockout loss in the second frame. 

Set for his fifth Octagon appearance as part of his second stint under the UFC banner, Ukraine native, Krylov has managed to amass two losses and two wins so far. With ten knockouts and fifteen submission wins on his professional record, Krylov has bested names such as the above mentioned, Walker, common-opponent, Saint-Preux, Walt Harris, Ed Herman, Marcos Rogério de Lima, and to win undisputed Fight Nights Global 205-pound gold, dispatched UFC alum, Fabio Maldonado.

UFC Fight Island 6 takes place on October 17th. - with a high-stakes, potential featherweight title eliminator between one-time title challengers, Brian 'T-City' Ortega, and 'The Korean Zombie' Chan Sung Jung reworked, and set to close the showcase.
