An interesting bantamweight pairing of top-fifteen contenders, Cody 'The Spartan' Stamann, and Merab 'The Machine' Dvalishvili is currently targeted to feature at a UFC Fight Night event on December 5th. - with a location and venue yet to be determined by the promotion.
For Grand Rapids, Michigan native, Stamann - he features for the fourth time this year, hoping to rebound from a unanimous judging loss to Tiger Schulmann trainee, Jimmie 'El Terror' Rivera at a UFC 'Fight Island' event in July.
Matt Serra and Ray Longo student, Dvalishvili will make his fourth Octagon appearance of the year, hoping to extend his unbeaten run in the promotion to six fights - following a unanimous decision win over former two-time flyweight title chaser, John 'The Magician' Dodson at UFC 252 in August.News of the earmarked matchup was first reported by The Athletic reporter, Greg Rosenstein.
Stamann, 30 - looks to rebuild on some momentum which seen him amass a three-fight unbeaten run prior to his loss to the above noted, Rivera. Before dropping the loss to Rivera, the Xtreme Couture trainee had scored a unanimous decision win over Brian 'Boom' Kelleher, as well as a judging victory over Alejandro Perez - in between a controversial majority draw opposite Song Yadong.
Georgian wrestling ace, Dvalishvili added Dodson to a splendid run this year - which included a short-notice win over former Combate Americas bantamweight best, Gustavo Lopez, and fellow contender, Casey Kenney. Sitting at 12-4 professionally, Dvalishvili has been tipped for championship contender status as early as the close of next year - given his relentless wrestling pace, and largely unrivaled cardio.
