What's next for Conor McGregor?

UFC 202 seen the redemption of Conor McGregor as the Irish man battled for 5 rounds against Stockton fighter Nate Diaz. McGregor managed to score 3 knockdowns and survived an onslaught in the later rounds from the cardio machine Diaz. McGregor looked gassed in the second round but caught a second wind at the start of the fourth so score a majority decision victory. McGregor was also notified that he may be unable to return to action until February 2017, without clearance from an orthopaedic doctor, due to the shin and ankle injury he sustained during his rematch with Nate Diaz. So after the rematch, what's next for McGregor?

Conor McGregor V Nate Diaz III: The most obvious fight for McGregor is a third, 'rubber' match with Nate Diaz. It's currently tied 1-1 with McGregor's latest win, and a third bout will most definitely put an end to a fantastic trilogy and rivalry. Both fights have taken place at 170lbs and now McGregor ordered that the next deciding bout must take place on his 'terms', as he wants it at 155lbs, a more comfortable weight for both fighters. This Lightweight bout could be scheduled to take place at UFC 205 in New York at Madison Square Garden in the inaugural UFC event in New York if McGregor is cleared to partake. Nate has also sounded his eagerness to complete the trilogy and told how 155lbs is the division he is most comfortable at.

Eddie Alvarez V Conor McGregor: New UFC Lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez poked a jab at McGregor after the Irishman's victory over Nate Diaz, explaining how in his opinion, McGregor can't last 5, 5 minute rounds and that he should stick to 3, 5 minute rounds instead. This follows the barb also thrown at McGregor when Alvarez mocked his suits and fashion sense. Interestingly, McGregor told how his next fight will take place at 155 pounds, the division where Alvarez reigns supreme, and the Philadelphia also told how he would consider fighting in Ireland. Alvarez, a former two time Bellator Lightweight champion is a fantastic wrestler and has a powerful right hand, could be the next opponent to receive a big pay day.

Conor McGregor V José Aldo II: Dana White seems to have ordered Conor to either defend his UFC Featherweight Title against Jose Aldo, or vacate the title to his former foe. Aldo, the current UFC Interim Featherweight champion, fresh off a decision victory over Frankie 'The Answer' Edgar at UFC 200, is gunning for a rematch against the man who ended his 10 year undefeated streak in just 13 seconds at UFC 194 last December. Aldo put on a calm, clinical display against Edgar, keeping his distance and out pointing the hesitant American. Conor's dream to hold multiple title's in the UFC at the same time, may be put on hold due to the orders of the UFC President.
