Arsenal bring in Lucas Perez while Chelsea ponder Alonso move:

Arsenal have finally recruited a striker for their new season after the arrival of Deportivo La Coruna forward Lucas Perez for a fee believed to be in the region of £17 million. Wenger compared the Spaniard to Jamie Vardy with both strikers developing later on in their career. Arsenal have recently relied on French striker Olivier Giroud and former Manchester United man Danny Welbeck at the end of last season and the arrival of Perez will surely relieve the pressure on former Montpellier man Giroud. Perez is expected to be joined by fellow La Liga star Shkodran Mustafi as the German World Cup winner is believed to have agreed a move to the London side from Valencia. The loss of Mustafi would cause another huge loss at the back for Valencia in consecutive seasons after the departure of Nicolas Otamendi to Manchester City. The Spanish side looked to Aymen Abdennour to fill the void. Zenit St. Peterberg's Ezequiel Garay to fill the void left by Mustafi. Antonio Conte's Chelsea side looks set to make former Bolton and Sunderland full back Marcos Alonso his fourth summer signing after the arrivals of Michy Batshuayi, N'Golo Kanté and Eduardo earlier in the summer. A few of £24 million is believed to have been agreed between Chelsea and Italian side Fiorentina for the 25 year old left back. Alonso is likely to provide competition to first choice full back Cesar Azpilicueta. Alonso enjoyed productive stints at Sunderland and Bolton Wanderers before heading to Serie A.
