Saturday's Premier League Roundup:

Everton V Tottenham Hotspurs:

Ronald Koeman began huis reign as Everton boss with a home fixture against Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs. There have been incomings at Goodison Park this season with Maarten Stekelenberg and former Aston Villa midfielder Idrissa Gueye making their debuts. Spurs fielded Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama for the first time since the former Celtic man completed his switch from Southampton. New Everton signing Ashley Williams wasn't match ready to feature today along with Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku, with the latter subject to departure rumours.Argentine defender Funes Mori stepped in after the deparute of John Stones to Manchester City, with the English centre half completing a £47.5 million move to The Etihad earlier in the week. Spanish forward Gerard Deulofeu was deployed as the focal point to Everton's attack and with just 5 minutes gone, the former Barcelona man was fouled on the edge of the box. Ross Barkley's delivery from the free kick beat everyone including Hugo Lloris who appeared to have picked up a knock as the 'Toffees' took the lead. Deulofeu was causing all sorts of problems for the Tottenham defence as he produced a save from Lloris, with the Frenchman needing to be replaced by former Swansea shot stopper Michel Vorm just after the half hour mark. Vorm was straight to work as yet another Spur's keeper denied Gerard Deulofeu. Spurs then brought on Dutch signing Vincent Janssen to partner Golden Boot winner Harry Kane as Pochettino looked for a way back into the match. Argentine winger Erik Lamela then rose highest to nod home the equaliser on the hour. Kevin Mirallas and Ramiro Funes Mori seen half chances wasted as Janssen was gifted a huge chance to find the winner on his debut but was denied by Stekelenberg as Everton scrambled the ball away. Lamela then seen his shot denied as both sides shared the spoils.

Middlesborough V Stoke City:

Middlesborough welcomed Stoke to the Riverside as they began their journey back in the Premier League after last seasons promotion. Aitor Karanka handed debuts to Champions League winning goalkeeper Victor Valdes, former Liverpool full back Antonio Barragan, Michael De Roon and former Manchester City forward Alvaro Negredo, as Mark Hughes elected to leave Welsh midfielder Joe Allen on the bench rather than handing him his full debut. Alvaro Negredo got proceedings off to a start after he headed home from a Gaston Ramirez header after 10 minutes. Debutant Michael De Roon was forced off with a hamstring injury 10 mintues later as his debut came to a disappointing end. Victor Valdes was equal to Marko Arnautovic's header as Stoke's first real chance had come and gone. Gaston Ramirez was then at the heart of two chances, as he headed off the line before firing wide at the other end. With an hour gone, Albert Adomah wasted a good chance as his delivery into the box was cleared by Phil Bardsley, with Stewart Downing and Alvaro Negredo lurking in the area. It proved to be a chance rued as Switzerland midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri equalised after his free kick wrong footed Valdes. Stewart Downing then seen his header easily saved by former Newcastle and Manchester City keeper Shay Given as Shaqiri rescued a point for the 'Potters'.

Southampton V Watford:

Both Southampton and Watford welcomed Claude Puel and Walter Mazzari to the Premier League after both sides lost their managers during the summer. Watford looked nervous at the back as Heurelho Gomes mistakenly spilled Dusan Tadic and Miguel Britos nearly cleared the ball into his own net. Troy Deeney then found Etienne Capoue who calmly finished past Fraser Forster to give Mazzari's men the lead. The only real chance Southampton had came at the break when Dusan Tadic's fantastic footwork resulted in a ball to Shane Long who headed wide at the back post. Southampton then found the equaliser thanks to new signing Nathan Redmond. the former Norwich City man was brought in to replace now Liverpool winger Sadio Mane, and he produced a volley out of the top drawer to tie the game up. Ben Watson then seen red with 15 minutes to go as he brought down Shane Long as the Republic of Ireland striker raced through on goal. New signings Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Camilo Zuniga clashed in the box but the referee waved away penalty shouts. Nathan Redmond though he had snatched all three points at the dying embers of the game but he was ruled offside.

Burnley V Swansea City:

Newly promoted Burnley welcomed Swansea to Turf Moor as their Premier League campaign got underway. Fernando Llorente leaded the line on his debut for Francesco Guidolin's side and produced two saves form Tom Heaton, first with a header then with a low effort. David Jones then produced a save from Lukasz Fabianski. The Championship's top scorer Andre Gray then seen his powerful
effort saved by Fabianski as Burnley looked most likely to score. The second half seen two mistakes from both keepers as Fabianski nearly allowed Michael Keane to score while Tom Heaton couldn't collect Kyle Naughton's cross. Both sides then missed huge opportunities to score as Sam Vokes was denied by Fabianski and Federico Fernandez blasted high from 2 yards out, when it was easier to score. Swansea were grateful to find the net after that missed chance as Montero introduction proved to be vital as his cross found Llorente who produced a party from Heaton, but only to Letoy Fer who tapped in from close range with just 8 minutes to go. The goal proved to be vital as Swansea took all three points from Turf Moor.

Crystal Palace V West Bromwich Albion:

Alan Pardew's Crystal Palace began their campaign against Weat Brom at Selhurst Park. There were many question marks regarding the futures of Yannick Bolasie and Saido Berahino with the Congo international on the verge of a £30 million move to Everton, while Saido Berahino was linked with moves to Stoke City, and interestingly Crystal Palace. Venezuelan forward Saloman Rondon had an effort denied by Wayne Hennessy. It was then Berahino's chance to break the deadlock, but Hennessy was again equal to his effort. Conor Wickham and Andros Townsend then wasted their half chances.
Two former Manchester United players were then at the centre of the action with Wilfried Zaha wasting a chance while one on one with Ben Foster. Ireland international James McClean then found Saloman Rondon and the former Zenit forward headed home to give West Brom all three points.

Manchester City V Sunderland:

Pep Guardiola began his adventure in the Premier League against Sunderland. Guardiola's debut in the Premier League got off to a perfect start with Raheem Sterling winning a penalty after being brought down by Patrick Van Aanholt. Sergio Agüero converted with ease to give City the lead.  Nolito, making his debut for City went wide with a curling effort from the left. Lamine Kone, subject of interest from Everton found Jermain Defoe who produced a save from Willy Cabellero, as Joe Hart was demoted to the bench. Agüero then missed a decent opportunity, and 10 minutes later, John Stones was beaten by Adnan Januzaj and the Belgian winger found Jermain Defoe who slotted under Cabellero as Sunderland drew level. Disaster then struck for Sunderland as debutant Paddy McNair scored an embarrassing own goal just four minutes after coming off the bench to give Pep Guardiola a win in his first Premier League match.
