Pardew's Palace bring in Benteke:
Alan Pardew has significantly bolstered his Crystal Palace attack with the club record signing of Belgian striker Christian Benteke from Liverpool for £32.5 million. Jürgen Klopp has offloaded the out of favour striker after inconsistent form since his £32.5 million move from Aston Villa. Palace have offloaded former Arsenal strikers Marouame Chamack and Adebayo Adebayor in the summer and were only left with Conor Wickham as their senior striker. The Belgium forward found the net 9 times in almost 30 appearances for the Meyserside club since his most form the 'Villians'. Crystal Palace hand fended off interest from West Bromwich Albion with the future of their striker Saido Berahino up in the air. West Brom pulled out of the deal to sign West Ham striker Diafra Sakho after the fitness of the forward was called into question. 'The Baggies' have also looked at Watford striker Odion Ighalo but Walter Mazzari's side have placed a £40 million price tag on the forward.
