Dos Anjos to meet Tony Ferguson at UFC in Mexico City

Former UFC Lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos will step into the octagon against top contender Tony 'El Cucuy' Ferguson in his first fight since his unsuccessful title defence to Eddie Alvarez. Ferguson is coming off a victory over UFC debutant Lando Vannata. 'El Cucuy' last loss came against Michael Johnson and has since went on an 8 fight win streak beating other top contender Edson Barboza along the way. Ferguson last two victories came via D'arce chokes, one of his favourite submissions. Dos Anjos looked very nervous during his defence against Eddie Alvarez, a characteristic we are not very used to. Dos Anjos is predominantly a pressure fighter who looks to close the distance early in his fights and look for punishing leg kicks. Dos Anjos also possesses knockout power, seen in his second tussle with Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone. Many critics have spoken against this bout with many people telling how Ferguson's 8 fight win streak should warrant him a title shot against Alvarez. With the biology of this main event, it now looks like Russian Sambo specialist Khabib Nurmagomedov will be next in line to challenge for the title.
