Eddie Alvarez willing to defend Lightweight title in Ireland

Newly crowned Lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez has told how if he was to meet Conor McGregor, he would have no problem fighting him in Dublin. Alvarez, fresh off a dominant victory over former title holder Rafael Dos Anjos didn't take long to name his most favourable opponent telling how he wants the winner of Conor McGregor or Nate Diaz, with the two men set to battle on August 20th, at UFC 202. The Philadelphia native, told how he has previous 'beef' with Diaz telling how they once had a run in, in New Mexico. Alvarez also aimed shots at the UFC Featherweight champion Conor McGregor telling how 'It's hard for me to be intimidated buy a guy who gets his suits from Build-A-Bear' and how he would be 'more than happy to accommodate him' and that a trip to 'Ireland' wouldn't be a problem. McGregor was originally slated to fight Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC 196 in an attempt to become the first ever multiple weight champion, but the Brazilian pulled out of the scheduled contest citing a horror broke metatarsal injury, and was replaced by Nate Diaz on 12 days notice, with the Stockon native overcoming the Dubliner in a Welterweight bout. Another aspect which most be called into question is, what about Khabib Nurmagomedov? The Sambo practitioner retunred from injury as he mauled Darrell Horcher when he was originally scheduled to face Tony 'El Cucuy' Ferguson. Ferguson another title contender, winning his last 8 bouts, most recently a submission over Lando Vannata, must overcome the former champ Dos Anjos before he shall be granted a title shot. Exciting Brazilian Muay Thai expert Edson Barboza must also be involved in this conversation, after dislplaying a striking clinic on his way to victories over Anthony Pettis and most recently, Gilbert Melendez.
