£89 million Pogba jets to Manchester.
The longest running transfer saga of the summer looks to finally have its conclusion, as Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba was yesterday given permission to travel to Manchester to complete a medical ahead of a record setting £89 million move to former side Manchester United. Pogba's move to José Mourinho's side will surpass Gareth Bale's switch to Real Madrid from Tottenham by £3 million. United, fresh off a community shield triumph over Leicester City are set to complete the final piece of their puzzle as Mourinho highlighted his desire to sign four players for his first season in the Old Trafford dugout. Pogba will join Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Community Shield hero Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Manchester United's official website confirmed the reports that Pogba was heading back to United, with the hashtag #POGBACK. A strenuous medical will be carried out by the Frenchman which could take up to 3 days with the confirmation of the signing expected by Thursday. After the Community Shield victory, Mourinho expressed his delight that Pogba was finally back stating he would be 'great' for a club like Manchester United. The addition of Pogba could prove to be the midfield maestro United have been missing since the retirement of Paul Scholes at the end of the 2012/2013 campaign.
