Transfer Roundup: 8/8/16

Jese Rodriguez completed his permanent switch to Parisian side Paris Saint Germain today with the exciting Spanish winger arriving for a fee beloved to be in the region of £25 million. Jesé, facing stiff competition for a place in Madrid's starting eleven had to battle Cristiano Ronaldo or Gareth Bale for a place at times, but when given the opportunity, preformed capably. Jesé grabbed 6 goals in all competitions for the capital club last season, including an impressive run and finish against Italian side Roma in the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League. Rodriguez links up with former La Liga men Unai Emery who replaced Laurant Blanc, and Gregorz Krychowiak who swapped Sevilla for Paris.

West Ham have added a sixth summer signing to their ranks after the arrival of Arthur Masuaku from Greek side Olympiakos. The French full back moves to the Olympic stadium on a 3 year deal. Earlier in the week West Ham decided to cancel the signing of former Newcastle full back Davide Santon after the Inter Milan defender failed his medical. Masuaku will provide the London club with cover due to the injury to first choice full back Aaron Cresswell. 'The Irons' are also close to securing the services of Swansea forward Andre Ayew after both clubs agreed a £20 million fee for the Ghana international. Swansea were reluctant to let the former Marseille man go before they found a sutiable replacement, and earlier in the week signed former Athletic Bilbao and Juventus forward Fernando Llorente from Sevilla. It is also believed that a deal to bring Atletico Madrid forward Borja Baston to the Liberty Stadium as both sides were close to agreeing a £15 million deal. Bastion notched an impressive 18 goals while on loan at Eibar last season.

French midfielder Samir Nasri could be heading for the exit of the Etihad after the club confirmed they would be listening to offers for the former Arsenal and Marseille man. It is believed he will be allowed to leave if an offer in the region of £18 million is submitted with many suitors such as Inter and AC Milan rumoured to be interested in the French man. Nasri received criticism from fans and critics after the winger returned from holiday overweight. Nasri rarely featured for the 'Sky Blues' last year due to niggling injuries and inconsistent form. Nasri joined Manchester City from Arsenal for a fee of £25 million but quickly fell down the pecking order after an influx of signings. The arrival of Spanish winger Nolito with surely decrease his chances of featuring, so a move away from the Etihad must seem appealing for the Frenchman.
