Alistair Overeem picks up a third round KO of Mark Hunt after brutal knee:

'The Reem' has now scored 21 career knockout triumphs.
MMA icon Alistair Overeem and knockout master Mark Hunt got us underway on the main card of UFC 209 in Heavyweight rematch. Experienced British referee Mark Goddard was given the task of controlling these two behemoths of the octagon, as the first round got underway, with 'The Super Samoan' opening with a nasty leg kick, before his second attempt was checked by 'The Reem' resulting in a huge cut on the leg of the New Zealander. As with many of Overeem's previous endeavours to the octagon, he displayed his now usual tentative style for the opening minute or so. Alistair then traded his own leg kick, namely an oblique shot. Hunt then scored a good kick to the body, splashing the blood from his foot to the abdomen of his Dutch opponent. With just seconds remaining in the first round, Overeem began to turn and run from Mark Hunt, in a similar fashion to his bout with Stipe Miocic, but Hunt couldn't muster up any significant offence. Difficult first five minutes to judge. Overeem began the second round with a good spinning back kick to the body of Hunt, before missing with a front kick to the head. Overeem was doing a fantastic job of disguising his knee strikes and a particularly heavy one hurt Hunt as they clinched by the fence. Then as Overeem marched forward, Hunt tagged him with a big elbow, momentarily staggering the former Strikeforce champ. Again in the clinch, Overeem landed some heavy knees, before Hunt returned with another wobbling shot. The third and final round began with a missed elbow attempt from Mark Hunt, who had seen the damage it caused in the previous round. We then seen Alistair Overeem once more turn his back on Hunr and began running from the Kiwi. Again at the fence, an elbow landed flush for Overeem, before Hunt turned into a brutal knee to the head, and then a second before his body went limp and crashed to the canvas, resulting in a 21st career knockout victory for 'The Reem'.
