Lorenz Larkin to challenge Douglas Lima for Welterweight title at Bellator 180 card:

The hugely underrated Lorenz Larkin could be one win away from Bellator gold.
Earlier this week, Bellator MMA announced that the organisation had scheduled their premier pay-per-view card for Madison Square Garden in June this year, and the highly anticipated card, has suddenly taken supreme shape. The June 24th event, sees an unmissable clash of two iconic mixed martial artists, as Brazilian striker Wanderlei Silva, makes his promotion debut against UFC veteran Chael 'The American Gangster' Sonnen in the evening's main event.

Organisation owner, Scott Coker has made a major coup, as he announced that Fedor Emelianenko and Matt Mitrione will finally meet in the co-main event, after Mitrione's fall out of the pairs original scheduled contest, at Bellator 172. Mitrione suffered kidney problems the day of the bout, and was unfortunately forced from the card. This decision from Coker to re-book the Heavyweight battle, is a very shrewed, and admirable move.

That's not all of the night's action, as a 155lbs title bout between champion Michael Chandler and Brent Primus will also take place Chandler displayed his wrestling prowess and sheer dominance, on his way to a decision win over reknowed MMA star Benson Henderson, while Bellator 180 opponent Primus, a black belt in BJJ, is a dangerous grappler, and currently holds a 7-0 professional record.

The already stacked PPV event, has today witnessed another title clash added, this time, in the form of a Welterweight battle between Brazil's Douglas Lima, and recent signee, Lorenz Larkin. Feared striker and grappler Lima, finished Andrey Koreshkov in the pairs November rematch to reclaim the 170lbs gold, and before hand, picked up a decision win over Paul 'Semtex' Daley. For Lima's first title defence, he will face a similarly feared stirker in the form of 'The Monsoon', who was on a two fight win streak in the UFC, before singing for Bellator, convincingly finishing Neil Magny, after decision win over Jorge 'Gamebred' Masvidal.

This may not be the last intriguing match up to be added to Bellator's first plunge into the pay-per-view pool, as young BJJ expert Dillion Danis, has expressed his interest in competing on the card, for his MMA debut. Danis, a training partner to UFC Lightweight champ Conor McGregor, has gained notoriety from his exploits with 'The Notorious' one, and looks to write his own name in the mixed martial arts history book, by replicating Dublin born McGregor's double division success.
