Frankie Edgar faces Yair Rodríguez at UFC 211:

The Featherweight divison is taking definite shape with these matchups.
UFC 211 continues to stake it's claim as the most stacked card, in terms of talent, since UFC 205 in Madison Square Garden, as former Lightweight champ Frankie 'The Answer' Edgar has been announced to face Mexican striking star Yair Rodríguez in a 145lbs matchup, with almost definite title implications for either competitor. Edgar was unsuccessful in his pursuit of the Featherweight strap at UFC 200, losing a decisive decision to José Aldo, before recovering with a UFC 205 victory over powerful striker Jeremy Stephens. 'El Pantera' is a hugely dynamic fighter, from the new breed of MMA youngsters, proving his legitimate striking ability, scoring a second round front kick win over UFC legend B.J. Penn to grab his 10th career knockout, and earn his now #9 rank in the Featherweight division. Edgar's #2 spot in the highly competitive division would certainly see the winner either challenge the emergent of UFC 212's main event between the aforementioned Aldo, and interim champ Max Holloway. Another realistic option would for the victor to face the winner of the Cub Swanson and Artem Lobov scrap at UFC Fight Night Nashville. Huge implications for the Featherweight fighters await.
