Tyron Woodley V Stephen Thompson II: What will go down:

These two reignite their unresolved UFC 205 battle.
With UFC 209 in a state of disarray after the cancellation of the co-main event between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony 'El Cucuy' Ferguson for the Interim Lightweight title, the onus now lies on the Welterweight championship bout between Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson, to save a currently failing PPV card. Crown holder 'The Chosen One' Woodley, faces Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson, in the pairs UFC 205 rematch, after a five round battle, resulted in a majority's draw. Woodley, scored a couple of knockdowns in the first meeting, and almost finished kickboxer Thompson with a deep Guillotine at the end to the fourth round, before the South Carolina striker freed his head, to hold on and take the fight to the judges. Both men are fantastic strikers, but with polar opposite styles, Woodley an explosive puncher and 'Wonderboy' a pin-point kick specialist. Woodley seen a great deal of success in the opening round of the pairing, catching a kick from Thomson to score a takedown before pummelling the undefeated kickboxer, with body shots and slashing elbows. One thing Woodley was questioned over, was his choice to fight with his back to the fence, inviting pressure from 'Wonderboy' who seized the opportunity many times, landing good hands to push him back and a notable spinning back kick which sunk into the body of Woodley, leaving him cage stranded. When Woodley was able to land that powerful right hand, the result was evident, dropping Thompson twice in quick succession. More success was evident for Woodley, in the form of his brutal power low kick when Thompson was backing away, something he may try more of in the second fight. A huge chink in the armour of Tyron Woodley was his conditioning due his muscle mass in the first fight, particularly in the final round, where his output reduced considerably. Tyron's main keys to success which would see him retain are his wrestling. He must utilise his much better and seasoned wrestling experienced. His explosive power. That big right hand must be locked and loaded for tonight, along with his right low kick. Finally his foot work and movement to evade the kicks of 'Wonderboy'. Thomson's keys are his kicking foundation which he must stick to. His movement, to close the distance and land that jab and straight, and finally he certainly has to incorporate front kicks to the body to force the fight from 'T-Wood'. Ultimately, I believe Tyron gets the job done, with more wrestling and that explosive nature retaining his crown.

Tyron Woodley via knockout.
