GSP and Bisping trade several barbs as heat between the two intensifies.
After the recent announcement of a UFC Middleweight title clash between Michael 'The Count' Bisping and the returning Georges St-Pierre, a press conference between the pair was announced for the Friday before UFC 209. With the recent news of Khabib Nurmagomedov's failure to make weight in the allotted time and his admittance to hospital, the attending MMA faithful, were in need of a morale boost from the fan favourites. With a venue and a date yet to be confirmed by the Ultimate Fighting Championship, it is widely believed that they will take this oppurtunity to assess these unresolved details. Expect the media to bombard UFC President Dana White, with questions regarding Tony Ferguson, 'The Eagle' and where this leaves UFC 209, in terms of a co-main event.

The proceedings got underway with UFC President Dana White telling how Michael Bisping wasn't to be seen around the arena, before welcoming GSP back, who was tempted to take Bisping's belt. White then told how he hoped the fight would occur sometime in July, after St-Pierre entered the USADA testing pool. GSP then talked about his discussions with the UFC, thanking them for the opportunity to face 'The Count'. Georges expressed his excitement and his he was feeling 'rejuvenated' to be back. White then joked how he hoped deserved title contender Yoel Romero wouldn't "kill him", but promised to sort something out for the Cuban. St-Pierre claimed he would be at his "peak" come Fight Night against Bisping. GSP was then questioned about his decision to move to 185lbs, telling how he walks around near to that weight. St-Pierre told how he wasn't sure if he would return to the Welterweight division, which he once conquered. Bisping then took to the mic for the first time, asking "who the fuck cares" about GSP, before telling him to "go back to fucking Canada". Both men then traded barbs, with St-Pierre questioning Bisping's mental state. St-Pierre then told how he planned to beat up "that drunk guy" Bisping. Asked about his training for Middleweight, St-Pierre exclaimed that he hoped to put on some "muscle-mass" for the contest at 185lbs. Bisping then claimed that St-Pierre was an "easy payday", before telling Yoel Romero to wait patiently. Ariel Helwani then took to the mic to ask GSP would he consider moving back to Welterweight, with St-Pierre explaining how he wouldn't be looking past Bisping. White then refused to tell Helwani about his resolution for Romero, before St-Pierre told how he didn't pick Bisping as overlooking him. GSP then told how Demian Maia and Khabib Nurmagomedov were in the same situation as him when he was seeking his eventual rematch against Matt Hughes. Bisping then praised the wrestling prowess and KO power of Yoel Romero, but insisted he didn't make the UFC matchups. After an intense stare down, GSP joked that Michael smelled of alcohol and how he needled to train hard for the matchup.
