Cynthia Calvillo marks octagon debut with RNC win:

Undefeated Cynthia Calvillo looks impressive in octagon bow.
UFC Strawweight competitors Amanda Cooper and Cynthia Calvillo benefitted from the fall out of Khabib Nurmagomedov's and Tony Ferguson's Interim Lightweight title fight, as their bout was promoted to the main card of UFC 209. Herb Dean got us started for the first of three scheduled rounds, with both Cooper and Calvino elected to trade shots for the opening minute or so. An attempted kick to the body of Calvillo was caught, as the latter scored a takedown, and a later scramble almost sene Cynthia pull off an Anaconda finish, but transitioned to a rear-naked choke smoothly and expertly, to really display her grappling ability. Calvillo then flattened Cooper out and forced the tap to pick up a submission victory on her Ultimate Fighting Championship debut. Impressive performance.
