Ovince Saint Preux Returns Positive COVID-19 Test, UFC Vegas 7 Fight With Alonzo Menifield Off

One-time UFC interim light heavyweight title challenger, Ovince Saint Preux has been forced from tonight's co-headliner with short-notice replacement, Alonzo Menifield - after returning a positive test result for COVID-19.

The pairing at 205-pounds has subsequently been moved to a September 5th. event - with Los Angeles native Menifield also removed from the card, with insufficient time available to find the 32-year-old a last-minute replacement. News of the positive result was initially penned by MMA Junkie reporter, Nolan King.

Floridian Von Flue choke specialist, Saint Preux was initially scheduled to meet with Shamil Gamzatov at tonight's event, until the Russian was replaced by the aforenoted, Menifield on short-notice. The 37-year-old veteran briefly tested heavyweight waters for his most recent outing at UFC Fight Night Jacksonville, losing a unanimous judging to fellow UFC mainstay, Ben Rothwell over three rounds.

The possibility of a return to the win-column for Menifield has also been postponed as a result of the positive test return. The two-time Dana White's Contender Series feature - featured at UFC 250 in June in 'Sin City' - dropping his first premier professional outing, when pitted with Devin Clark. Menifield had lodged prior UFC wins over Paul 'Bearjew' Craig, and Vinicius Moreira.
