Report: Khama Worthy vs. Ottman Azaitar Rescheduled For UFC Event on September 5th.

An intriguing lightweight matchup between Khama 'The Deathstar' Worthy, and undefeated challenger, Ottman 'Bulldozer' Azaitar has been reworked for a UFC Fight Night event on September 5th. - with a location and venue yet to be determined by the organization.

Worthy and Azaitar were initially scheduled for the Lemoore, California instalment of UFC 249  until the bout was shelved amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Improving to 2-0 in the UFC in his last outing, division prospect, Worthy managed a late final round submission win over Luis Peña - catching the TUF alumnus with a guillotine at UFC Fight Night Vegas in May.

12-0 Moroccan finisher, Azaitar will attempt to move to 2-0 in the promotion himself, following a stunning first-round knockout over Teemu Packalén at UFC 242 last September in Abu Dhabi - in his promotional bow. Sources close to Ross Markey MMA confirmed the pairing, requesting anonymity in the process as the promotion are yet to officially announce the contest - after Azaitar revealed the rebooked pairing on his official Instagram account.

Making massive waves in his first UFC outing, 33-year-old Pittsburg based all-rounder, Worthy faced Devonte Smith at UFC 241 last August - scoring an eye-catching first-round overhand stoppage on just four days notice. Along with his aforenoted scrapped pairing with Azaitar, a matchup with veteran lightweight contender, Michael 'The Menace' Johnson was ultimately cancelled. From sixteen professional victories, Worthy has managed twelve stoppages inside the distance.

Former Brave CF mainstay, Azaitar brought with him - a notable eleven fight undefeated run to the Octagon last September. The German-born 30-year-old has scored noteworthy wins over Charlie Leary, Alex Vogt, and the experienced, Danijel Kokora prior to his UFC stint. Similarly to, Worthy - Azaitar has a polished knack for finishes, scoring ten successful stoppages.
