Brazilian Muay Thai standout, Thomas Almeida seems to be back in action - following a two-year layoff. The 29-year-old striker is pencilled in to meet with bantamweight mainstay, Alejandro 'Turbo' Pérez at a UFC Fight Night event on October 3rd. A location or venue for the event has yet to be determined by the promotion.

São Paulo native, Almeida looks to rebound from a two-fight skid - with his most recent outing coming all the way back at UFC 220 in January of 2019, where he dropped a second-round knockout to Rob Font.

Also finding himself on the wrong side of the winner's enclosure in his two most recent outings, Mexican finisher, Pérez has been on hiatus since last July, where he suffered a knockout defeat at the hands of 135-pound prospect, Song Yadong at UFC 239. Milenio reporter, Carlos Contreras Legaspi was first to report the news of the bantamweight bout.

Once touted as one of the biggest potential contenders at bantamweight - 21-3 striker, Almeida has yet to really recover since his UFC Fight Night Las Vegas main event opposite one-time titleholder, Cody Garbrandt. The May 2016 knockout loss marked Almeida's first defeat in twenty fights.

With a 4-3 promotional record, Almeida has managed notable wins over Yves Jabouin, Brad Pickett, Anthony Birchak, and Albert Morales. Prior to his brief return to winning ways opposite California's, Morales - Almeida dropped defeats to Jimmie Rivera, and the aforementioned, Font.

An eleven fight UFC veteran, 30-year-old American Kickboxing Academy staple, Pérez took the inaugural season of The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America - dispatching two-time foe, José Alberto Quiñónez back in November of 2014.

In other eye-catching wins, Pérez has managed to overcome former WEC bantamweight best, Eddie Wineland, and Brazilian grappler, Iuri Alcântara. From twenty-one professional victories, Pérez has scored nine knockouts and five submissions.
