Report: Bethe Correia, Evan Dunham Released From Their UFC Contracts

One-time UFC bantamweight title challenger, Bethe Correia, and lightweight veteran, Evan Dunham have both been released from their UFC contracts - in the recent round of promotional cuts, according to a recent report from MMA Fighting reporters, Damon Martin and Guilherme Cruz.

Brazilian challenger, Correia - last featured at a UFC Fight Night event on 'Fight Island' in July, dropping a unanimous decision loss to TUF finalist, Pannie Kianzad. The 37-year-old Paraíba native famously challenged then bantamweight best, Ronda Rousey for the 135-pound title at UFC 190 on home soil - losing via a quickfire first-round knockout.

Since her headlining tilt against Rousey, Correia has established a 2-4-1 promotional record from seven subsequent outings - with victories over both one-time flyweight title chaser, Jessica Eye, and a recent win over Sijara Eubanks coming.

For Oregon veteran, Dunham - the veteran lightweight all-rounder returned from a two-year hiatus at UFC 250 in June, losing via first-round rear-naked choke to Herbert Burns.

The 1st. degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt has managed to score an 11-9-1 promotional record, since his first Octagon appearance all the way back at UFC 95 back in February of 2009. In eye-catching triumphs, Dunham has overthrown the likes of Efrain Escudero, Tyson Griffin, Nik Lentz, Gleison Tibau, Ross Pearson, and Joe Lauzon.

The recent release of the aforenoted duo - follows news of the promotion's decision to cut ties with recent debutante, Max Rohskopf, and the multi-fight deal signed by promotional veteran, Paige VanZant who's linked up with the Philadelphia based outfit, Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.
