Report: Dominick Reyes vs. Jan Błachowicz Targeted for UFC Event on September 26th.

A light heavyweight pairing between perennial top contenders, Dominick 'The Devastator' Reyes, and Jan Błachowicz is currently in the works to feature at a UFC event on September 26th. - with a location and venue yet to be determined by the promotion. The organization are currently working alongside current champion, Jon Jones to determine his next outing with the possibility of a title of some form, up for spoils between both Reyes and Błachowicz.

Recent title challenger, Reyes will look to put his premier professional defeat behind him - following a February championship challenge opposite the aforementioned Jones, where the Hesperia native dropped a highly contentious unanimous decision defeat.

Fresh from a knockout victory of his own also in February - former KSW light heavyweight best, Błachowicz scored a stunning first-round stoppage via strikes of recent Bellator MMA signee, Corey Anderson - extending his winning spree to three bouts. News of the pairing was initially penned by ESPN reporter, Brett Okamoto.

Reyes, 30 - seen his six-fight Octagon rise halted by Jones in their February headliner in Houston, as well as dropping his first professional blemish. The Californian has featured professionally thirteen times and made his transition to the UFC following a single appearance under the LFA banner back in June of 2017.

Fast-tracking his way to a title opportunity, Reyes made quick work of the likes of Joachim Christensen, Jeremy Kimball, middleweight contender, Jared Cannonier, and former middleweight best, Chris Weidman - in between decision triumphs over one-time title challengers, Ovince Saint Preux, and Volkan Oezdemir.

In the form of his career, #3 ranked contender, Błachowicz - added the previously mentioned, Anderson, to a winning run which includes a close split decision win over one-time Strikeforce middleweight best, Jacaré Souza, as well as a highlight-reel knockout of fellow former Strikeforce 185-pound best, and UFC gold holder, Luke Rockhold.

The 37-year-old finisher has managed seven knockout wins, and an eye-catching nine victories via submissions - including stoppages of Devin Clark, Nikita Krylov, and Ilir Latifi.
