A flyweight title matchup between undisputed champion, Valentina 'Bullet' Shevchenko, and former Invicta FC titleholder, Jennifer Maia will take co-main event status at UFC 255 on November 21st. - with a location and venue yet to be determined by the organization.

Attempting the fourth successful defence of her 125-pound throne, Kyrgyzstan native, Shevchenko will make her Octagon return from a leg injury - which ruled her out a July matchup with Joanne Calderwood.

Replacing the aforenoted Calderwood via a short-notice submission win of the Scottish Muay Thai ace, Curitiba born grappler, Maia will meet with Shevchenko in November, after securing a first-round armbar victory over Calderwood last weekend. News of the official flyweight title contest was initially penned by ESPN reporter, Brett Okamoto.

As dominant a championship force you're likely to find in the UFC today - kickboxing and grappling ace, Shevchenko has made considerably short work of each and every challenger to her flyweight throne to date.

Following a vacant title success opposite former strawweight best, Joanna Jędrzejczyk, Shevchenko has managed a calculated display against Jessica Eye, a rematch success against Liz Carmouche, and her last outing in February - a dominant third-round knockout win over perennial contender, Katlyn Chookagian.

Earning her first tilt at Octagon gold, 31-year-old finisher, Maia makes her sixth Octagon outing, looking to dethrone Shevchenko and improve her promotional résumé to 4-2.

In those three victories, the Brazilian has dispatched former UFC title challengers, Roxanne Modafferi, and Alexis Davis, to go along with her submission success against the previously mentioned Calderwood at UFC Fight Nigth Vegas at the start of this month. In her two UFC blemishes, Maia has dropped defeats against common opponents, Carmouche, and Chookagian.
