Vitor Belfort V Gegard Mousasi: What will go down
The co-main event of UFC 204 in Manchester, sees a clash between the legendary Vitor 'The Phenom' Belfort and former StrikeForce Middleweight champion Gegard 'The Dreamcatcher' Mousasi. Belfort tasted defeat in his last contest at UFC 198, succumbing to punches in the 1st round against master grappler, Ronaldo 'Jacare' Souza in Brazil. Dutch kickboxer Mousasi picked up a dominant KO victory over Thiago Santos at last July's UFC 200. Both men are fantastic on their feet with Belfort known for his swarming when he realises his opponent has been rocked, while Mousasi is known for his calm, relaxed approach in the octagon. Another factor in this dream matchup is both men's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu background, so they should be more than comfortable to throw kicks without being too worried about being brought to the ground. Belfort, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under the legendary Carlson Gracie, has finished 3 of his professional bouts via submission, while Iranian born Mousasi has finished 12 of his 39 wins via submission.
Gegard Mousasi via knockout.
