A special 150-pound catchweight pairing between featherweight contenders, Ádám 'The Kid' Borics, and Derek 'The Stallion' Campos has been set for Bellator 243 on August 7th. - from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
Hungarian born striking ace, Borics, will attempt to return to winning ways for the first time in his career, following a first frame rear-naked choke loss to former bantamweight best, Darrion Caldwell in January. Promotional mainstay, Campos also suffered a defeat in his most recent appearance - dropping a third-round armbar defeat to A.J. McKee - his second straight blemish. News of the catchweight pairing was first penned by Combate's, Raphael Marinho.
Prior to his January defeat to Caldwell at Bellator 238 - Borics had secured an incredible fourteen consecutive professional wins. The perennial contender has notched career highlight wins over uber-prospect, Aaron Pico, veteran challenger, Pat Curran, Josenaldo Silva, and fellow upstart, Teodor Nikolov. The 27-year-old has competed under the Bellator banner since April of 2017 - landing five wins in the organization.
Seventeen fight Bellator veteran, Campos has dropped four losses in his last five outings - including three consecutive defeats. The 32-year-old Texas native seen a four-fight winning run snapped by Patricky 'Pitbull' - in a streak which included victories over Brandon Gritz in a rubber-match, UFC alumnus Melvin Guillard, and Derek Anderson. Winning the opening round of the Bellator featherweight Grand-Prix, Campos' last win came opposite Daniel Strauss.
