Inaugural UFC featherweight titleholder, Germaine 'The Iron Lady' de Randamie looks to begin her route back to bantamweight title contention on October 3rd. - with a pairing with fellow perennial contender, Julianna 'The Venezuelan Vixen' Peña targeted to take place at the Vegas event.

de Randamie will make her first Octagon appearance since a title challenge defeat to two-time opponent, Amanda Nunes at UFC 245 last December, in a relatively one-sided loss. The Ultimate Fighter 18 135-pound tournament victor, Peña last featured against inaugural flyweight best, Nicco Montaño last July, taking a unanimous decision win. News of the targeted tie was initially reported by MMA Fighting reporter, Damon Martin.

Utrecht native, de Randamie seen a five-fight winning run snapped by Nunes, who coincidently, managed to snap her first winning run in promotion back in November of 2013 as well. The kickboxing ace rose to Octagon prominence back in early 2017, where she narrowly bested former bantamweight best, Holly Holm with a unanimous decision at UFC 208, despited landing two strikes after the klaxon - without any point deductions following. In other career wins, de Randamie overcame one-time title hopeful, Raquel Pennington, as well as a shocking stoppage of top-contender, Aspen Ladd at UFC Fight Night Sacramento in July.

Washington born finisher, Peña was scheduled to meet with the aforenoted, Ladd at a UFC Fight Night event in March, until an injury ruled the 30-year-old out. Peña's above-mentioned win over Montaño served as her first outing since January of 2017, where she dropped an opening-round armbar defeat to then top challenger, and current flyweight queen, Valentina Shevchenko. Prior to the loss, Peña had notched Octagon wins over Jessica Rakoczy, Milana Dudieva, and title challengers, Jessica 'Evil' Eye, and 'Alpha' Cat Zingano.
