| Can 'The Mauler' earn a third Light Heavyweight title challenge against Teixeira? |
Swede star Alexander Gustafsson will headline UFC Fight Night Stockholm against Brazilian boxer Glover Teixeira in what may turn out to be a Light Heavyweight championship eliminator. 'The Mauler' last featured in the octagon against Jan Blachowicz at UFC Hamburg, after a wrestling clinic, from the second round onwards earned him a decision victory. Brazilian #3 ranked contender Teixeira, recovered from a devastating 13 second loss to Anthony Johnson, to pick up a decision win over the unranked Jared Cannonier, displaying a similar wrestling bonanza. Gustafsson, who has twice competed for the Light Heavyweight crown, failed on both occasions, losing a razor thin decision loss to Jon Jones, before another decision defeat at the hands of current champ Daniel Cormier. Gustafsson's only other career losses have come at the hands of 'Rumble' Johnson and current Bellator Light Heavyweight king Phil Davis. Both men are supreme strikers, with Glover holding the advantage in the possible grappling exchanges, holding a 2nd degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and is extremely capable of scoring a submission win. Exciting matchup.
