Anderson Silva awarded surprising unanimous decision victory:

Anderson Silva claims first victory since 2012.
The co-main event of UFC 208 seen a Middleweight clash between former division champ and G.O.A.T Anderson Silva, and powerful, explosive wrestler Derek Brunson. Silva, without a win since his 2012 demolition of Stephen Bonner, faces a huge task against the younger, hungrier Brunson. Brunson was comprehensively finished by Robert Whittaker in thier main event bout in Australia at the tail end of last year, and has a huge opportunity against the 41 year-old 'Spider'. The main keys for Silva is his precise counter striking and use of slashing kicks, while Brunson should look to utilise his wrestling early, as seen when Chael Sonnen faced Silva in the pairs two battles. With Yves Lavinge in the middle, the first round got underway with no strikes fro the first minute. Silva countered well with a right hook as Brunson rushed forward. Anderson forced Brunson backward as he chased him down. Brunson landed a good left hand in the clinch. So far so good for takedown defence for Silva. Silva charged again and landed a good shot to the body before a spinning back to the head missed for the Brazil native. Brunson, then from the clinch wobbled Silva, who then slipped on a flying knee attempt as the round came to it's conclusion. The second round began with a sprawl from Silva as Brunson went for a takedown. Brunson seen his left hand attempt slipped before a takedown attempt finally landed for the American. Silva sprawled again to avoid the double leg from Brunson. Silva then got back to his dancing self as he broke out some capoeira as the round's end. The third and final round began with another unsuccessful takedown attempt from Brunson, and then another as Silva sprawled yet again. Brunson was having some success with strikes in the clinch. Brunson then scored a takedown with just over a minute left in the third and final round. The final round ended with Brunson on top, with Silva landing some decent shots from the bottom. To nearly everyone's surprise, Anderson Silva was handed the unanimous decision victory.
