Undisputed UFC Featherweight champ José Aldo, will face Interim title holder Max Holloway in the division's title unification bout at UFC 212, in Aldo home country Brazil. After two division champ Conor McGregor's 145lbs title was stripped from him, then Interim champion Aldo, was promoted to undisputed status. Even more confusion was added to the fray, when originally scheduled UFC 206 headliner bout between Light Heavyweight king Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson fell out, the co-main event between Holloway and former UFC Lightweight champ Anthony 'Showtime' Pettis, was promoted to a five round Interim Featherweight title fight, and when Pettis missed weight, he was then ineligible for the title if he won. Holloway subsequently finished Pettis in the second round to set up the future bout with Aldo at the beginning of June. Hopefully for the credibility of the Featherweight division, this fight does finally take place and we have a legitimate title holder, for the rest of the 145lbs contenders to chase.
