NSAC chairman Anthony Marnell confirms Mayweather V McGregor discussions:

Things begin to heat up as talks commence over Mayweather v McGregor fiasco.
The Nevada State Athletic Comission chairman Anthony Marnell III confirmed this evening that discussions were in fact taking place over the possibility of the meeting between the undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. and UFC Lightweight champion Conor McGregor. Marnell told how "real people are having real discussions" but warned how "a lot of things need to get done to see something like this come together". A report in Irish newspaper The Sun this morning, claimed that both 'Money' Mayweather and Dublin born McGregor had agreed to face eachother, but such claims are considerably wide of the mark. It is believed that both Mayweather and McGregor are looking to scoop $100 million each for the contest to take place, but the ever outstanding problems of PPV percentage split provide a considerable stumbling block to the potential matchup. Speculation was rife yesterday when it was revealed that McGregor had cancelled a Q&A session in Dublin, as to jet out to Vegas, with many believing the polarising superstar, is attempting to resolve his NSAC fine for his water bottle fiasco with Nate Diaz in the build up to UFC 202, and to acquire a boxing license for the state of Nevada, which would see the bout between himself and boxing icon Mayweather take place in the MGM Grand or the T-Mobile Arena. Many hurdles are still preventing this matchup, but with discussions taking place, setting the ball rolling, this may become more than just barbs exchanged in the media.
