Who comes away with the W in this Welterweight clash? |
Hugely popular Icelandic grappler Gunner Nelson will return to the octagon for the first time since last May, when he secured a neck crank finish over Albert Tumenov in Rotterdam, against exciting Welterweight challenger Alan Jouban in the co-main event slot at UFC Fight Night London. The Straight Blast Gym Ireland trainee was scheduled to headline UFC Fight Night Belfast alongside Dong Hyun Kim but an injury to the Reykjavik star ruled him out of the bout, before the co-main event between Gegard Mousasi and Uriah Hall was promoted to the event headliner, with Mousasi scoring a first round knockout. Lafayette native Jouban, is on an impressive 3 fight win streak since his loss to the aforementioned Tumenov, finishing Brendan O' Reilly, before picking up consecutive decision wins over Belal Muhammad and powerful striker Mike Perry. Jouban a relatively new contender, has a solid Muay Thai foundation, but may find himself in deep waters when he faces Renzo Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt Gunnar Nelson.
