Fedor Emelianenko V Matt Mitrione: What will go down:

Will Fedor pick up the W in his first Bellator bout?
The main event of Bellator 172, sees legendary mixed-martial artist Fedor Emelianenko battle former UFC challenger Matt Mitirone, in the Russian's first contest on American soil since his 2011 Strikeforce loss to since retired Dan Henderson. Winning every 5 of his contests since then, Fedor faces his most dangerous competitor since that KO loss in the form of former NFL Defensive Tackle Matt Mitrione. Mitrione, 11-5 in his professional career, competed on The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights, and is a hugely dangerous striker finishing 10 of his 11 career wins. 'The Last Emperor' need no introduced to any MMA fan, widely regarded by many in the community for a long time to be the best pound-for-pound fighter on the plant, Fedor has most notably competed in PRIDE Fighting Championships, where he picked up the 2004 Heavyweight Grand Prix title, and became the last PRIDE Heavyweight championship holder. Emelianenko has beaten the most feared Heavyweights on the planet, such as Ricardo Arona, Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira, Gary Goodridge, Mark Coleman, Kevin Randleman and fellow legend Mirko 'Cro Cop' Filipovic. The 40 year-old Russian has only been knocked out 3 times in his illustrious career, and has one of the best submission games in the entire sport, but his most recent performance in a hugely controversial decision win over Brazil's Fabio Maldonado sounded alarm bells, as Fedor was dropped in the first round, but still managed to pick up a majority decision victory, as I scored it a draw. The main keys for success in this bout for Fedor is his Judo, and submissions, while avoiding the striking of Mitrione, Mitirone should be full of confidence after Emelianenko's previous performance, and must do his upmost to make this a standup boxing match.
