What next for GDR after 145lbs title victory:

We need to see this again.
On Saturday night, in rather controversial circumstances, Dutch Muay Thai master Germaine de Randamie picked up a unanimous decision victory over Holly Holm to take the inaugural UFC Women's Featherweight title. At least 3 strikes after the buzzer on two seperate occasions, weather intentional or not, certainly shook up Holly Holm, giving de Randamie an unfair advantage. To make matters worse, referee Todd Anderson elected against taking a point from 'The Iron Lady' after the second occurance. The fight could have easily gone the way of 'The Preacher's Daughter', after a stunningly question mark kick in round three and a left hand in the fourth stunned the Utrecht native, forcing her to the mat. Nevertheless, GDR walked out of the Barclays Centre with the gold, and faces stiff competition with whoever she faces in her first title defence.

Holly Holm rematch: We're not going to dwell on this too much, but this needs to happen sooner rather than later, after the questions left unanswered and the conterversial nature surrounding the fight result.

Cris 'Cyborg' challenge: It has to be noted that this 145lbs division was built to home the destructive nature of Cris 'Cyborg' Justino, but a rather large spanner was thrown into the works when the current undisputed Invicta FC Featherweight champion tested positive for a USADA banned substance, used in Justino's almost impossible 140lbs Catchweight weight cut, for her bout with Lina Lansberg. The Brazilian knockout artist is expected to receive a ban for the flagged test, but just last night UFC president Dana White told how 'Cyborg' had been informed of some "good news" regarding the imaginable outcome of the investigation. Many have speculated what this news is, and I believe it will be regard a shorter than expected ban for the Brazilian. It is difficult to put a definite time stamp on this pairing, as de Randamie took to the mic last night to tell Joe Rogan how she would be under going surgery on her right hand, after she sustained ligament damage after her 2015 bout agaisnt Larissa Pacheco at UFC 185.

Second title adventure against Amanda Nunes or Valentina Shevchenko: A hugely intriguing contest would see 'The Iron Lady' return to the Bantamweight division while she waits for the return of 'Cyborg', to pursue a second division title held simultaneously against the winner of Amanda Nunes' title defence against Valentina Shevchenko. In my opinion, de Randamie may be the only female capable of making 135lbs to match the power of Nunes, who most recently dismantled Ronda Rousey at UFC 207. A battle against Dagestan's Valentina Shevchenko would also be a immense kickboxing and Muay Thai affair.
