Brock Lesnar announces retirement from MMA:

Lesnar was regarded as unstoppable during UFC title stint.
Former UFC Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, has announced his retirement from mixed-martial arts at the age of 39. The WWE superstar, amassed a 5-3 record in his professional career, claiming the Heavyweight title from pioneer Randy Couture in just his third octagon appearance, before successfully defending against Frank Mir in the pairs rematch at UFC 100, and a submission win over Shane Carwin seen him unify the championship gold. Lesnar known for his extensive wrestling background, is a two time NCAA Divison I All-American wrestler utilising his explosive takedowns to finish Interim Heavyweight champ Shane Carwin on the mat via an arm triangle. Lesnar won't remember his first or last octagon appearance too fondly, with Frank Mir forcing the tap from 'The Beast' via a kneebar spoiling his organisation debut, and his originally judged unanimous decision victory over Mark Hunt, subsequently overturned to a no contest after the South Dakota native was notified of a potential anti-doping violation by USADA, eventually resulting in a $250,000 fine and a one year suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Comission, after it was revealed that two of his provided test samples, tested positive for the banned substance clomiphene. Clomipheme acts as an estrogen blocker, generally regarded as a sure sign that an athlete has finished a cycle of steroid use and is attempting to restart the bodies natural cycle. Lesnar had spent 5 years away from the sport, after a knockout loss to Cain Velasquez and a devastating body kick by Alistair Overeem, finished Lesnar who was suffering with diverticulitis at the time. Although Lesnar will forever be remembered as a dominant UFC Heavyweight champ, his reputation has been considerably tarnished following the fallout of UFC 200.
