Jéssica Andrade to provide latest test to Joanna Jedrzejczyk's throne. |
Dominant Polish Strawweight striker, Joanna Jedrzejczyk will look to successfully defend her as of yet unattainable crown, at UFC 211 in Dallas, Texas when she faces phenom Jéssica Andrade. Jedrzejczyk has been one of, if not the most dominant and skilful females mixed-martial artists to step into the sport, successfully defending against compatriot Karolina Kowalkiewicz, Cláudia Gadelha, Valérie Létourneau and Jessica Penne, since her knockout of Carla Esparza back at UFC 185. Jedrzejczyk 13-0 in her professional career, faces maybe her stiffest competition to date in the form of Andrade. Fierce power puncher Andrade, has seen unrivalled success since her move from Bantamweight to Strawweight, finishing the aforementioned Penne, JoanneCalderwood, and just over a week ago, won a unanimous decision against current Invicta FC Strawweight champ Angela 'Overkill' Hill. Andrade isn't just an aggressive striker, but an absolute barbarian on the mat finishing 6 of her 16 wins via that nasty guillotine, sinking in deep to force the tap from Tristar's Calderwood when the pair clashed at UFC 203. This contest will most likely be a stand up affair, with Joanna's extensive Muay Thai background and 'Bate Estaca{s}' supreme boxing, but if we do see a trip to the mat, Andrade has more than enough capability to score an upset submission win.
