What next for Derrick Lewis:

Is there a Heavyweight who can stop 'The Black Beast{s}' run?
Popular Heavyweight contender Derrick 'The Black Beast' Lewis solidified his top 10 rank last night at UFC Fight Night Halifax, picking up a second round knockout win over Travis Browne in the main event slot. Deadly striker Lewis, recovered well from countless front kicks to the body in the first round, to maul Travis in the second to earn a 6th straight victory, 5 of which were KO's. So with those impressive stats in hand, who can we expect to see standing across from Lewis on his next trip to the octagon?

Battle with Francis Ngannou: What UFC fan wouldn't be excited to see 'The Predator' host 'The Black Beast' in the octagon at some stage in the future? Two of the most dominant and hard hitting brawlers in the entire division, a sudden finish would be almost guaranteed, and perfect for a UFC Fight Night headliner down the road. French phenom Ngannou, made easy work of Andrei Arlovski at UFC Fight Night Denver, to score his fifth straight octagon finish and success since his debut in the organisation. Ngannou's underrated grappling may also play a role in this matchup, and a win for Lewis would certainly convince doubters of his championship potential.

Ben Rothwell bout: Another similar matchup to a match with Ngannou, would occur against
experienced contender Ben Rothwell. Very comparable to Ngannou in terms of striking, but Rothwell offers a huge disadvantage on the ground for Lewis, claiming victory a staggering 13 times via submission, with his most recent win to date coming via an impressive guillotine choke against Josh Barnett. Rothwell has also beaten championship caliber fighters, in the form of ONE Championship Heavyweight king Brandon Vera, and the iconic Alistair Overeem. Rothwell faces stiff competition against former champ Fabricio Werdum at UFC 211, but a loss to 'Vai Cavalo' could setup this Lewis contest.

Stefan Struve test: A really interesting and testing bout for Derrick Lewis, would be a hugely popular scrap against Dutch contender Stefan 'Skyscaper' Struve. The much taller and longer Struve, would present some big problems for New Orleans native Lewis, especially with his kickboxing and once more, his grappling, which has earned him 17 career victories. Struve has some really respected wins on his resumé, including a knockout win over current Heavyweight champ Stipe Miocic and Antônio 'Bigfoot' Silva and a unanimous decision performance against Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira.
