Holly Holm meets Germaine de Randamie in inaugural UFC Women's Featherweight title clash:

Holly Holm will feature against Dutch kickboxer Germaine de Randamie in the first ever UFC Women's Featherweight championship title fight at UFC 208. Former UFC Women's Bantamweight title holder Holm, who is on a two fight slide, losing her title to Miesha Tate before losing a decision to Valentina Shevchenko, will take on  'The Iron Lady' de Randamie, who is undefeated in her kickboxing career, winning all 37 of her bouts, with her last defeated in the UFC coming against UFC 207 main event champion Amanda Nunes. Rumours circulated throughout the mixed martial arts community earlier in the week that current Invicta FC Featherweight champion Cris 'Cyborg' was offered the fight against Holm and de Randamie, but rejected the bout, citing a need for recovery after her incredibly dangerous weight cut for her Catchweight bout with Lina Lansberg. In my opinion, the UFC Women's Featherweight division will prove to be hugely beneficial for both the organisation and the fighters, allowing them to compete at a much more managable weight. One worry for surrounding organisations, will be the possibility of a UFC absorbing of the company, particularly Invicta FC, in a similar way to Strikeforce and World Extreme Cagefighting.
