Rory MacDonald to make Bellator bow against Douglas Lima:

Former UFC Welterweight title challenger, Rory 'The Red King' MacDonald is expected to make his Bellator debut against Brazilian Welterweight champion Douglas 'The Phenom' Lima, in a baptism of fire for the Canadian. MacDonald took to social media platform, Twitter, to very politely ask Lima if he would accept a fight with him, with Lima duly obliging. Lima, a two time Bellator Welterweight champion, won the title for the first time against current Titan FC Lightweight champion Rick Hawn, before losing to Andrey Koreshkov, and just last November reclaimed the title from Koreshkov, via a brutal first round knockout, when the pair met at Bellator 164. MacDonald, signed for Scott Coker's Bellator last August, after losses to Robbie Lawler at UFC 189, and a decision loss to recent UFC 205 Welterweight title challenger, Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson, in their main event clash. MacDonald told how he plans on triumphing in both the Welterweight and Middleweight divisions, and it now seems he will be given his first chance at gold, against 'The Phenom'. American Top Team's Lima, is equally adapt in his standup game, as his grappling, holding a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Roan Carneiro. Tristar's red king, regarded by many as the next Georges St-Pierre, faces a tough task against the knockout and submission specialist Lima, who holds a win over former UFC Welterweight Paul Daley to his name. Both men showed their real class on their respected Twitter accounts, with both seeming thankful and grateful for the opportunity of sharing the octagon, maybe as soon as April, with Lima currently nursing an injury, but told how he is willing to wait until July for MacDonald.
