Amanda Nunes V Ronda Rousey: What will go down:

The main event of UFC 207 sees a UFC Women's Bantamweight championship bout between current champ Amanda 'The Lioness' Nunes, and the returning Ronda Rousey. The UFC's first ever Women's Bantamweight title holder Rousey, last stepped into the octagon back at UFC 193 in Australia, to defend her crown against Holly Holm. The world stopped for a mere moment, when the seemingly unstoppable Rousey, was stopped in the second round by Holm after a brutal head kick knockout. Rousey spoke of her dark thoughts after the bout, telling how she even contemplated suicide, leaving media and fans alike, in doubt of a return from the polarising star. In Ronda's year long hiatus, Holm was defeated by former two time foe Miesha Tate back at UFC 196, before 'Cupcake' headlined UFC 200, also losing her crown to current champ Amanda Nunes via rear-naked choke after a dominant dismantling from the Brazilian. The Bahia native Nunes, is on a four fight win streak since her loss to Cat Zingano back in 2014, viciously stopping Shayna Baszler with a leg kick, before submitting Sara McMann and cleverly beating Valentina Shevchenko on her way to a title shot against Miesha. The UFC has received a lot of criticism for their UFC 207 main event promo, which seems to focus on the return of Rousey, rather than the journey of Nunes to the top, with Nunes featuring very rarely in the promo package. Nunes is not a fighter to be underestimated, especially with her accomplished striking and her immense Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu game. Nunes is arguably the hardest hitter at 135lbs, with Holly Holm coming in a close second, so Ronda will have to be very cautious whenever she looks to engage in her trademark under hook and judo throw, as Nunes is also a big 135lbs fighter, defending takedowns well against accomplished Olympic wrestler Sara McMann. It is a huge question of what type of Rousey we see agaisnt Nunes, and it also remains to be seen what her mindset will be when she steps into the octagon. The keys for success for Ronda are simple, do not allow yourself to get caught on the outside agaisnt such a devastating striker as 'The Lioness' implement a forward, but cautious pressure game, score an early takedown, look to revert to her arm bar basics in the scrambles, avoid Nunes' insane power. Nunes on the other hand, must avoid the early takedown, don't rush in and become susceptible to Ronda's Judo skills, keep the fight on the feet.

Amanda Nunes via knockout.
