Johny Hendricks and Ray Borg miss weight for their UFC 207 bouts:

Former UFC Welterweight champion Johny 'Bigg Rigg' Hendricks has astonishingly once again missed weight for his 170lbs clash with Neil Magny, while Flyweight contender Ray Borg also tipped the scales for his bout with Louis Smolka. This marks the second consecutive occasion Hendricks has missed weight, after he failed to make weight for his bout with Kelvin Gastelum back at UFC 200, forcing the bout to be rescheduled to a Catchweight contest, where fellow miss weight culprit Gastelum won a decision. 'Bigg Rigg' was also forced out of his UFC 192 battle with Tyron Woodley after he was rushed to the hospital before the weigh in after a kidney stone issue. It is believed that Neil Magny has been informed of Hendricks weight problem, and has accepted the bout, while Hendricks will forfeit 20% of his fight purse to the New York fighter. Meanwhile this marks the second time 'The Tazmexican Devil' Ray Borg has failed to make weight, coming in at 126.75lbs for his bout with Geane Herrera, where he ultimately picked up a decision victory. Louis Smolka is also rumoured to have accepted a Catchweight fight, but will pocket 30% of Borg's fight cut. In my opinion, earlier weigh ins still seem to prove to be a huge issue for fighters, even though they are designed to benefit them and allow quicker re hydration, it also poses the question, should the UFC abolish weight cuts completely and allow fighters to agree on a fair weight to compete at, or force fighters to be at a certain weight throughout a training camp.
