Ryan Hall's unusual style proves a puzzle for Gray Maynard:

The featured bout of the The Ultimate Fighter 24 Tournament of Champions: Prelims, sees a Featherweight battle between UFC veteran Gray Maynard, and exceptional Ultimate Fighter season 22 grappler, Ryan Hall. Hall opened up with an unorthodox rolling leg lock attempt, before landing some decent front leg side kicks. Gray Maynard showed some decent grappling of his own, defending against another Hall leg lock attempt. Hall then chased for a flying guillotine and leg lock, with Maynard escaping. Hall was utilising his kicks cleverly, to avoid the boxing power of Maynard. Maynard then again looked for a big overhand right, with Hall rolling once more, again to Maynard's disgust. Hall opened the second round once again landing some good front leg side kicks, before a head kick found it's target. Hall then momentarily stunned Maynard, with a non telegraphed lead hook kick. Round two ended with Gray Maynard looking quite frustrated with Hall's unusual style. Hall started the third and final round once again on his back, it's Maynard looking to kick his legs when he was on the ground, before Hall popped back up, landing another stinging lead hook kick. Hall landed another quick head kick, with Maynard plodding forward. Hall again punished with a lead hook kick, before Maynard rushed back in, with Ryan again flopping to the mat. Maynard looked clearly frustrated with his showing on the night, and also Hall's tentative nature and unwillingness to engage, as the pair went the distance. The judges handed a unanimous decision victory to TUF winner Ryan 'The Wizard' Hall.
