Joseph Benavidez picks up a bizarre split decision win:

The two coaches of the Ultimate Fighter 22 Tournament of Champions: Joseph Benavidez and Henry Cejudo met in the co-main event of the season finale, with both men becoming part of a feisty feud in the last weeks of the show. The winner of this bout will most likely take on either Demetrious Johnson or Tim Elliott, who feature in the cards main event. Cejudo will look to combat Benavidez's  striking and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu game with his own, Olympic gold medal warranted wrestling. Referee Yves Lavigne got us underway in this three round bout. Cejudo started very positively, cracking Benavidez before he popped back up. We then seen another unintentional groin strike from Cejudo on Benavidez. Cejudo was dominating the early striking exchanges, before Henry Cejudo was deducted a point for a second groin strike in a minute. Benavidez then landed a good front kick to the body with Cejudo still marching him down. Benavidez then defended a guillotine attempt from 'The Messenger'. Cejudo the caught Benavidez's leg, before sending him to the mat with a leg sweep, as the first round ended. Benavidez then missed wildly with a wheel kick attempt, while Cejudo was loading up in each exchange. Benavidez could also be accused of lacking technique in his striking in the second, as he looked to sway the momentum. Cejudo then landed a good leg kick as the second round came to an end. The third and final round began once again with Cejudo winding up. Cejudo was definitely dominating octagon control throughout the fight, pressing Benavidez against the cage. Cejudo was tagging Benavidez, before he was tagged himself with old front kick. Cejudo missed with a late takedown attempt, before both men stood centre of the octagon and began exchanging as they went the distance. The judges handed a split decision victory to Joseph Benavidez.
