What next for Michelle Waterson:
Rising UFC Women's Strawweight contender Michelle Waterson, has witnessed a severe rise in her stock, after her comprehensive first round rear naked choke victory over Paige VanZant in their main event clash at UFC Fight Night Sacramento. The former Invicta FC Atomweight 'queen pin', had a rollercoaster year, seeing her initial bout with SBG female Aisling 'The Bash' Daly fall out, after the Ireland native was forced off the card, citing an injury. Waterson's win, sees her leapfrog VanZant, earning the #7 rank in the UFC Women's Strawweight rankings.
Bout against fellow contender Tecia Torres: A realistic next clash for 'The Karate Hottie', would be a long anticipated battle with Tecia Torres, after the pair were previously scheduled to face off at UFC 194 last December, before an injury to Waterson forced her out of the bout, so why not pit these two exciting contenders together again, in the hope that we finally get to see them square off.
Tussle with the 'Thug': A potential title eliminator eliminator between Michelle Waterson and Rose 'Thug' Namajunas would be a fantastic showcase of striking, considering both talented women possess some of the most technical striking in all of the Women's Strawweight divison, with Namajunas holding a black belt in both Taekwondo and Karate, while 'The Karate Hottie', is also a master in Karate. The grappling of both women is something to behold aswell, with Rose a purple belt and Waterson a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Title eliminator against Claudia Gadelha: Another exciting matchup for the fans, would be another possible title eliminator between two time UFC Women's Strawweight title challenger, Claudia Gadelha and Michelle Waterson. Gadelha, twice faced reigning champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk, coming up short on both decision losses, controversially in the pairs first clash, and a third bout wouldn't be the craziest thing to occur in the often critiqued organisation. Waterson, has already established a huge 'baby face' appeal after her almost perfect display against Paige VanZant, and a win over Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt 'Claudina' would solidify her claim to challenge 'JJ' for the title.
