Alexa Grasso V Heather Jo Clark: What just happened.

The first fight of the main card of The Ultimate Fighter Latin America 3 finale seen an exciting Women's Strawweight bout between 8-0 UFC debutant Alexa Grasso and 34 year old Heather Jo Clark. Former Invicta FC fighter Grasso, holds notable wins over Jodie Esquibel, while American Jo Clark most recently been defeated by Karolina Kowalkiewicz, but holds a win over Bec Rawlinga in her 'journey women' career. Referee Keith Pieterson got us underway with Jo Clark closing the distance early on countering a leg kick. Clark then suddenly ended up on the back foot after a clinch exchange. Grasso seemed conposed and relaxed in the opening exchanges, before unloading multiple combinations after a good knee to Clark. Grasso then engaged in the clinch as the first round came to an end. Jo Clark told her coach how when she looked down, she couldn't see but she elected that she could continue. Grasso looked to against employ her game plan of closing the distance in the second with most of the second taking place against the cage in the clinch. Jo Clark did land a late takedown before Grasso attempted an arm bar from the bottom. The third and final round would force Jo Clark to try and finish Grasso with the UFC debutant more than likely ahead on decision, a composed Grasso looked to have claimed the unanimous decision over Jo Clark who couldn't seem to get firing on all cylinders. The judges rightfully handed Alexa Grasso the decision win, as she got her first win in the Ultimate Fighter Championship
