Diego Sanchez V Marcin Held: What just happened.
Former UFC Lightweight title challenger Diego Sanchez featured against former Bellator Lightweight title challenger Marcin Held n the co-main event of The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America 3 Finale. Making his 25th walk to the UFC octagon in his career, 'The Nightmare' will be eager to avenge his recent loss to Joe Lauzon with a win against submission specialist Held. The opening round seen Held pushing the pace early. Sanchez then defended an early takedown from Marcin Held. Held showed his athlectism with an audacious cartwheel kick. A standing guillotine attempt as defended by Sanchez as he threw Hled into the onlooking Mario Yamasaki, before Sanchez caught Marcin with a good right hook before the bell. Held demonstrated his fantastic heel hook and leg lock submissions when he caught Sanchez in a leg lock, but the veteran Ultimate Fighter season 1 winner defending well. The third and final round seen Held's takedown stuffed by Sanchez. The majority of the third was spent on the mat, with Held looking for heel hooks and leg locks, and Diego landing some decent elbows from the closed guard of Held. Both men were visibly exhausted as they went the distance. The judges handed a unanimous decision to Sanchez as Held was kept waiting for his first UFC win.
