Daniel Cormier out of Anthony Johnson title battle:
Current UFC Light Heavyweight champion Daniel 'DC' Cormier has pulled out of his UFC 206 title defence against Anthony 'Rumble' Johnson, after the American Kickboxing Academy fighter, suffered an injury. His opponent, the terrifying 'Rumble' Johnson, took to social media to wish Cormier a speedy recovery, and will most likely be matched up with a new opponent for the Canada card, possibly an interim Light Heavyweight title bout against fellow top contenders Ryan Bader or Jimi Manuwa, with both coming off impressive victories over Minotauro Nogueira and Ovince Saint Preux respectively. Daniel Cormier was forced into a Light Heavyweight battle against Anderson 'The Spider' Silva at UFC 200, after his original bout against Jon Jones was scrapped, when 'Bones' was notified of a potential anti-doping violation by USADA. 'Rumble', on the other hand, secured an earth shattering 13 second knockout over Brazilian striker Glover Teixiera, to set up the bout with 'DC'. Cormier's injury leaves only Max Holloway's Featherweight clash between Anthony Pettis, the only other big draw on the card. Maybe Dana White should have resolved his dispute with Georges St-Pierre and set up a Middleweight title bout between the Canadian favourite and current champion Michael 'The Count' Bisping, when given the opportunity.
