Max Holloway and Anthony Pettis to headline UFC 206:

Hawaiian, Max 'Blessed' Holloway and Anthony 'Showtime' Pettis, are expected to headline UFC 206 in Canada, in a UFC Interim Featherweight title fight, after Daniel Cormier pulled out of his Light Heavyweight title defence against Anthony Johnson. The original main event has now been replaced by Holloway and Pettis, who will face off to establish an interim champion, with current interim and undisputed champs Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor's 145lbs futures in question. A recent dispute involving Aldo and the UFC led the Brazilian to tell how he was exploring life away from the octagon to maybe pursue a new sport, possibly soccer. While McGregor's ventures at Lightweight and Welterweight, have cast doubts over the possibility of him every making the 145lbs limit again. The UFC matchmakers are said to have decided to promote Holloway's and Pettis 3 round bout, to a 5 round title fight and thus, the main event of the Air Canada Centre card. Rumours were rife of a Georges St-Pierre comeback to save the card, with reports suggesting the former UFC Welterweight champ and MMA icon, was preparing to return and was looking to keep lean if the opportunity arose. One has to wonder what numbers the new main event will bring to the company, with neither Max or Anthony real 'draws', if only GSP and the UFC resolved their dispute.
