Claudia Gadelha looks phenomenal on way to unanimous victory:
Claudia Gadelha made her return form her UFC Women's Strawweight title loss to Joanna Jedrzejczyk against the unranked American Cortney Casey. Gadelha made a decent start to the first round, landing a good overhand right against the longer and taller Casey. Both women clinched up after a back and fourth, with Casey landing a shot on the break. Gadelha then on the exit of her own, landed a decent right hook, which Casey walked through. Gadelha then landed a tide turning takedown, as Casey scrambled toward the fence. Casey eventually made it to her feet, where she landed a good judo throw, with Gadleha rolling though to make it to Casey's full guard. Dale ha in the second round, landed another decent right hand early on. Gadleha then moments later, threw a sizzling left hand on another clinch exit. Casey's rushing forward, seen her clinch up with Gadelha, who again landed another combination before landing another level changing takedown. Velha once again showed her experience when she once again took down the on rushing Cortney Casey. Gadleha ended on top again as the clad on sounded, swaying the judges in her favour. Casey was once again loading up and rushing in throughout the final round, before a takedown from Gadelha. It then seemed when Casey was looking to hook up Gadelha's leg, the Brazilian nearly caught Casey with a soccer kick, which in the replays, seemed to just brush past the American's head. Casey continued, before Gadelha again landed some decent strikes in a so far so good display. Gadelha once again finished the third and final round on top, as they went the distance. The judges handed thanimous decision to Brazilian Claudia Gadelha.
