Beniel Dariush V Rashid Magomedov: What just happened:

Iranian born Lightweight contender Beniel Dariush faces #15 ranked Rashid Magomedov, with the latter on a 12 fight win streak. Dariush engaged in an early clinch after opening with a head kick. A great takedown by Magomedov gave him the advantage in the opening round. Herb Dean then separated the pair after a groin strike against Dariush. Dariush was searching for a huge overhand left which Magomedov slipped. Dariush landed a great left body kick which forced Magomedov to take the fight to the ground. Herb Dean started the second round with Dariush applying the early pressure. Similar to Heather Jo Clark's bout with Alexa Grasso, the majority of the second took place at the fence in the clinch. The third and final round began with Dariush once again looking for that left high head kick, but once again they clinched u for a moment. Herb Dean separated the fighters once again, this time due to the lack of activity from both men. Both men began to swing for the fences towards the end of the fight, they go the distance. The judges handed a unanimous decision Beniel Dariush as he looked to move improve on his #9 Lightweight ranking.
