Robert Whittaker V Derek Brunson: What will go down.

The main event of UFC Fight Night 101 in Melbourne, Australia, sees a clash between two Middleweight behemoths, as hometown hero Robert Whittaker, clashes against explosive wrestler Derek Brunson. The original main event was supposed to see a rematch between former UFC Middleweight champion Luke Rockhold and former Strikeforce Middleweight king Ronaldo 'Jacare' Souza. Rockhold pulled out from the fight a couple of weeks ago, citing injury, leaving 'Jacare' without a suitable matchup, with fellow top contenders Chris Weidman and Yoel Romero battling at UFC 205. 'The Reaper' Whittaker, is on five fight win streak in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, while Jackson's MMA fighter Brunson, a three time Division II All-American Wrestler, has really developed his striking in recent times, finishing 4 of his last 5 contests via first round knockout. The 16-3 Brunson, holds notable wins over Lorenz Larkin and Uriah Hall, and his most memorable defeats have come at the hands of the afore mentioned Yoel Romero and Ronaldo Souza. Brunson will no doubt dominant any wrestling exchanges, also improving his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, earning his purple belt under the highly renowned Renzo Gracie.Whittaker, the Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes winner, may be more than capable of holding his own if the fight stays on the feet, with the Aussie holding a black belt in karate.
